19 August 2015
Staff from CHEP UK presented Gemma Potter and Amanda Atkinson from You & Co, Victim Support’s children and young people’s programme, with a cheque for £10,000 to support the development of the Safer Schools Programme.
CHEP UK, the leading pallet and container pooling services provider kindly donated the money through local Manchester radio station Key 103’s Cash for Kids campaign after hearing about the fantastic work of You & Co.
The You & Co Safer Schools Programme works with schools to develop awareness raising sessions, resources and training to help children and young people, and those supporting them:
- understand healthy relationships
- safety planning
- make safer choices
- develop protective behaviours
- understand how to ask for help
Gemma Potter, National Children and Young People Development Co-ordinator said: “You & Co are really thankful to CHEP UK for choosing our application and recognising the value of our Safer Schools Programme."
Amanda Atkinson, You & Co’s Schools Project Officer added: “The Safer Schools Programme will be an important development for You & Co, and will enable us to provide consistent messages to all children and young people to help keep them safe.”
